UMBRELLA, GLOVES, THE JACKET

Tie, gloves, an umbrella - became for a long time an integral part of our clothes. They not only keep heat, decorate, create certain mood, but also "bear the certain information". On clothes and on these attributes of clothes there is a first impression about the person. It is especially interesting to learn, where for the first time there were it accessories.

Jacket
This name has occurred from the French man's name Jacque, widespread in the people. It became nominal, designating the French commoner. Recollect the name of national war - "Жакерия". As a jacket was called the short jacket which was carried by peasants.

 

Gloves

Custom to carry gloves of the woman have adopted at men. In the Middle Ages gloves awarded knights. To throw a glove to feet meant a call on a duel.

 

Notable Egyptians and Greeks sat down to table in gloves not to spoil to themselves fingers as plugs then were not known yet.

Such tie was sewed - and sewed till now - from three parts which have been cut out on slanting. A tie undoubtedly one of the most elegant details of a man's suit. Umbrella
In ancient China the umbrella was an advantage symbol. At high officials the umbrella had some circles, located one over another, as at a pagoda. The umbrella of the Chinese emperor was four-storeyed. In antique Rome umbrellas were an accessory of women. On British isles the umbrella originally also belonged to women.
